Dayne Jordan “iladelphia’s Own” + Playlist

North Philadelphia rap artist Dayne Jordan could be the best Hip Hop act you’ve never heard of.  The protegé of legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff.  Jordan is a pure lyricist who’s content is rich in storytelling and full of social issues.  The way he paints the differences between commercial music and underground rap is like that of a seasoned veteran.  Dayne’s style reminds you of a younger Kanye West before The Kardashian curse that has left Yeezy in his respective sunken place.

Formerly known as Dosage first discovered by Lupe Fiasco.  His songs are rich in content.   Covering a range of subjects, from fatherhood to performing in front of sold out music festivals in Dubai. To the struggles with growing up in a single parent household, and meeting his mentor DJ Jazzy Jeff.  Jordan’s recent release In Transition is arguably his strongest most in-depth Album to date.

Some of the standouts on the project were the Funked out track Higher.  The album will put you in the feeling of James Brown with a twist of Black Thought, who also hails from the City of Brotherly Love.  The soul soaked title track In Transition feels like a call to action for self-awareness.
