BET reported to members of the press on Thursday, that Cardi B would be receiving two of the top awards given out at the annual gala that takes over Los Angeles every June. Adding to her Grammy glory, Cardi is up for Video of the Year and Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. She will also compete for a viewers-choice-award and Best Album of the Year, on the heels of her Grammy Award winning project “Invasion of Privacy”.
Los Angeles native, Nipsey Hussle who’s untimely death in late March, still has the hip-hop community in mourning. Received only one nomination(Best Male Hip-Hop Artist) in total, for his Grammy nominated project “Victory Lap”. He’s in the category with the likes of J.Cole, Travis Scott, Meek Mill, 21 Savage, and Drake(5 nominations, 2nd behind Cardi B).
The BET Award will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on June 23rd.
