After a complete wipeout of events in 2020 due to Covid-19, cannabis-industry conferences and festivals are being planned for 2021. Some are virtual while others are in-person. Are people ready to congregate again in convention halls and hotels?
Here’s a list of scheduled events, cancellations and question marks:
CHAMPS Trade Show
From Las Vegas to Atlantic City, CHAMPS is one of the top cannabis B2Bs. Their numerous 2020 shows were canceled. CHAMPS returns to Orlando on March 9-11 for an in-person show.
SXSW
In 2019, 280,000 people attended South by Southwest (SXSW), the annual music, film and interaactive event that takes over Austin every March. SXSW started as a music conference/festival in 1986. Over the last few years, many panel discussions have focused on cannabis. The 2020 event was canceled. SXSW Online ’21 is scheduled on March 16-20.
NOCO Hemp Expo
Concerend about the health and safety of 400 vendors and 20,000 potential attendees, the 2020 event was postponed and rescheduled to March 25-27 at the National Western Complex in Denver (in-person).
